Naaman's Rebirth

He emerged
like a baby
as if from the water of birth

new skin
heart
the old decaying carcass
left
in the river.

“Now I know that there is no God on earth but in Israel.”

He went back
to serve
his king

worshipped with
his slave girl
his face toward
Jerusalem.
